Dr. Maya Charani

Dentistry has been a part of my life long before it became my profession. Coming from a family with a long-standing tradition in dentistry, I grew up understanding that it is a profession that requires much more than knowledge and technical skill. It requires responsibility, patience, attention to detail, and, above all, a genuine understanding of people. Perhaps that is why I have never thought of dentistry simply as a job.

For me, the best dentistry is not the kind that immediately reveals that something has been done. I am drawn to results that feel natural and effortless – where the smile simply looks like it belongs to the person. With every patient, I try to find the right balance of shape, colour and proportions, creating something that is personal rather than simply following a particular trend.

I believe that dentistry is at its best when different specialists bring their expertise together. Working closely with an orthodontist allows me to look at each case from a broader perspective and consider treatment options that may not be possible when looking at the smile in isolation. I believe this kind of teamwork leads to more thoughtful and comprehensive care.

Growing up in a family of dentists gave me a strong foundation and shaped the way I see the profession today. But I also believe that every dentist has to find their own way. I am still finding mine – through every new patient, every new case, and the constant desire to become a little better at what I do.
